Poem: Silver Hands


"The Handless Maiden" is a folktale that I've grown fascinated with over the years. (Always interesting to see what stories appeal to me in different eras of my life, especially since I began storytelling professionally when I was 18-- quite a span of life changes).


I began writing storypoems as a way to translate the Swedish folksongs that my a cappella quartet, SVEA, performed. This storypoem is much freer form.
